Guggenheim Mobile

“Visiting a world class museum can mean navigating complex buildings, being overwhelmed by the volume of exhibits, missing out on things you’d have liked to have seen, and leaving with unanswered questions. But thanks to technology, it doesn’t have to be that way anymore.

The Guggenheim app (which is Android and iOS-compatible) will provide visitors with an enhanced experience before, during and after their time at the museum. Users can download information on exhibits using the app – all before even walking in the door. Once inside, a detailed floor map will ensuree museum-goers don’t get lost, while multimedia tours provide in-depth looks at the museum’s collection and at new special exhibitions.

So if you live in New York – or are one of the millions who will visit our City this year – be sure to stop by the Guggenheim and use the new app to optimize your experience.”

An internationally renowned art museum and one of the most significant architectural icons of the 20th century, the Guggenheim Museum is at once a vital cultural center, an educational institution, and the heart of an international network of museums.

Tristan’s creative team worked hand in hand with the Guggenheim’s curators, educators, designers and interactive media specialists over the course of several months to produce a ground-breaking mobile application that provides in-depth interpretation, features an incredibly intuitive user interface and reflects the unique aesthetics of the Museum.

Utilizing iBeacon technology to automatically present visitors with audio, video, and text related to the artworks and building features nearest to them, Guggenheim Near Me offers a site-specific experience for visitors as they move through the museum.

When a visitor opens Near Me, the screen displays information about nearby artworks and exhibitions. Location-relevant content about the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright building also appears as visitors explore the space. Users may select a preferred language and filter their Near Me experience to focus on general exhibitions, content for kids and families, or accessibility-oriented guides.
